as i stated earlier, people r pressuring me to let my baby CIO... i will not do it at this point though! id rather be tired! Are there any books though or specific methods i can read up on so that when i decided to try it in a few months i am more knowledgable on the topic? i dont want to just read garbage online, id like to find a good book about it to decide if its the right route in the next few months!
Re: cry it out method?
No I have not, is it any good?
It's not too bad, and has information that you can use now with the baby (not sleep related, just routine related). There are other books out there that help with sleep that aren't CIO either. The No Cry Sleep Solution is one I hear being highly recommended.
I like it. A friend with an older baby suggested it to me. It's about trying to use routine to make more predictable sleeping patterns. There's a book for Toddlers, too (obviously, I haven't needed to read that one yet). DH and I don't use everything in the book...we just take what works for Lovebug.
Reading it now - really good advice for a good sleeper anywhere (vs. CIO has to be re-worked after travel,) following baby cues vs. clock 100%... I like it a lot!
Who are these jerks? Why can't people mind their own business?
and... Why would you give in to "pressure"? Do what you feel is right for your family.
Try reading Ferber's book, is isn't what people have made his method out to be.
