Anyone get H1N1 shot just after LO turned 6 months?

I have an appt for Dylan to get his H1N1 shot next Friday but I am so nervous that he is going to have a bad reaction or something. It seems like he is having so much stuff put into his little body right now I just don't know if I want him to get it or not. Did anyone else get their 6 month old the shot, did you have any worries prior to getting it?

  • my husband is in the military, and they talked me into it... but we didn't give it to our lo. (so yes, we had lots of worries- and opted out.)
  • We did.  E got half her 6 mon shots and her synergis at her 6 month appointment and then went the next week for her H1N1 and the rest of her 6 month shots.  She will go back in a few weeks for her 2nd dose.  She had no problems with it.

  • yes, we just got it.  I was worried, but I was more worried about h1n1 itself.  no side effects for us.

  • We went 2 weeks ago for his 6 month well ck. They were giving him his synagis shot also so the pedi wanted to give the flu, h1n1 in 1 leg and the synagis in the other while coming back last week for the regular immunizations. I opted out of the h1n1 because I was too nervous and my husband really is against it. Well, his appt was supposed to be this past Friday and he couldn't go because I had the FLU. They thought h1n1 due to being slightly milder than reg flu. Wonderful. Joshua had a few sneezes here and there but is doing fine as of now. He did get put on tamiflu like the rest of the boys because the other boys started not feeling well, but they too are better. It made me too nervous getting the shot, but I was a nervous wreck the last several days hoping and praying he wouldn't catch it from me.
  • DD had her 6-month appointment a week ago and got both the seasonal flu shot and the H1N1 shot.  Her doctor just bumped one of her other shots until next time.  Following the shots, she was fussier than she has been after other shots, but I remember how sore my arm was after the flu shot, so I understand why!  She didn't have any adverse reactions to it.  GL!
