This is weird. DS is suddenly speaking with a distinct southern accent some of the time. Most of the time he speaks without the accent, but sometimes he starts talking faster and has the accent, and he uses words and expressions that I've never heard him use before.
He isn't around anyone who has a southern accent. DH and I might have a slight one (we live in VA), but DS has a distinct "drawl."

Evan does, too. The other day he was pretending to be a firefighter, and I was cracking up because he was saying "farrr" instead of fire.
I'm from Texas, but I don't have an accent. I don't know where he gets it.
That's funny. I can totally see where a child watching the Cars movie might do that.
My niece was speaking with a New York accent (and we live in MI). The pedi said that some kids that do this actually have a hearing deficiency (either anatomical or congestion). Went to an ENT and sure enough...that was the cause. The ENT I worked for confirmed it...some kids do that. We always just thought it was funny.
