BOB Rev. or City Mini Stroller?

Need some direction to go with stroller.  We are looking for a stroller that can handle curbs, pot holes, and grass...we don't have sidewalks in our neighborhood.  I would like to have the ability to jog with the stroller, but would also consider a second stroller that I could buy used for this purpose.  Convenience is nice, so I do like how the City Mini fold with one hand and seems fairly lightweight and compact.  I have not checked out the BOB yet.  We also want something that is easy to maneuver around people/crowds.  As for carseats, I prefer the Chico Keyfit which the City Mini should accomodate this spring, but wold be fine with the Graco Snugride for the BOB

 Thoughts anyone?

For potholes/grass/bumps, I would not choose the City Mini (and despite its maker, Baby Jogger, it is NOT a jogging stroller). I would get the BOB for what you described.  Even though it is larger, you would have no issue at all maneuvering it in crowds. The fold is very easy too, but not as compact as the City.

That thread was not very helpful as it was primarily about the carseat.  Just looking for opinions as I am not set on the BOB for jogging but it would be easier to have just one!  Thansk.

I only mentioned it, in addition to my opinion about the strollers, because you brought up the Chicco in your post. Sorry to waste your time.

Um, that thread makes it clear that the chicco does not fit the city mini.  You may want to reread it, if you go with the chicco, you can't put it in the city mini!

  • I have the BOB and a Graco Snugride/carseat adapter.

When I was buying the adapter on Amazon, I noticed several reviews saying it works with the Chicco with a slight modification.  Links to a couple of those reviews below:

  • I also have the Bob Revolution and a Graco Snugrider car seat.  I got the adapter and handle bar attachment as well.

LOVE IT.  Well we just tried it out in the street with no baby, but still love it.

Not quite true.  I've emailed BJ and they assured me that they are coming out with a car seat adapter for the City Mini in April '10.

  • Thanks for the input!  Was trying to avoid the carseat issues...as City mini will work in near future and BOB can be adapted if you REALLY want Chicco Key fit.  Just making sure the BOB is worth it.  It would be nice to have something smaller that was easier to pack in a car, but I guess I can always find a small Mclaren or something down the road.  Or, invest in a trailer.

Checked them both out today, while the City Mini is cool and so easy to fold up.  The BOB takes only a bit more effort.  It weighs more, but I not planning on lugging it around much, it is a stroller with wheels :)

     Thanks!
