While driving home with my craigslist score (see Lina's post below), I saw my ExFIL pumping gas.  I slowed down and started looking for a place to turn around so I could go say hi.  Then I realized what I was doing.  They had been a part of my life for so long, it was like a force of habit to say hi.  My ExFIL and I were very close, or so I thought at one time.  Now, he is the only member of DB's family to have never laid eyes on Baby Jack.  His lack of involvement hurt me almost as much as his son's did.  Remember, I have invited them over numerous times to see Jack, and sent them emails and pictures.  He has never responded.   There was no way in hell that I was going to stop at a gas station at night in the cold and give him the opportunity to see his grandson for the first time.  I was really surprised at myself though, that for just a second, I was able to forget about all of that.
