We started the "Sleep Lady Shuffle" tonight with DS and it was not too terrible for the initial falling asleep stage. However, I am really worried about the many times he will wake up tonight. Usually, I nurse him back to sleep with each night waking (and there are still MANY). I know that he is physically capable of sleeping through the night without eating at his weight and age-but it is something he has never done before. So, I am willing to still feed him once or twice at night until he gets used to not eating at night and starts eating more during the day to make up for it....I just don't want to confuse him or not have the sleep training be effective by nursing with some wakings and not others. Anyone have any experience with this??
Re: Did anyone sleep train without eliminating all nightime feedings?
We did sleep training without weaning the night feedings first. Once he got the falling asleep thing down, I weaned back the feedings. We now are down to going to bed @ 8 and waking 730-8am. He eats at about midnight and 5a. Used to be midnight, 330 and 5a..working on cutting back on 1 more feeding, then I'll eliminate them all. HTH
