If your LO has had a goose-egg ...

... has it gone away, or at least gotten smaller?

DS fell at daycare today and has a HUGE goose-egg, bruise & cut diagonally across his forehead. Basically, now he just has a really pointy forehead. It makes me so upset to look at it on his previously-pristine baby face. :(

When I was 5, I got hit in the forehead by a wood swing, and got a big goose-egg on the forehead, and it never went away. I "grew into it", I suppose, so it's not as noticeable now, but I've spent my whole life with bangs because of how self-conscious I used to be about it.

  • My dd hit her head on the changing table and it definitely went away!  I would keep your eye on it and maybe call the dr if it doesn't show signs of going down.  I haven't ever heard of one staying around though!  Hope he feels better soon.  It kills me when dd has a cut/bump/etc....which makes me think I am in for some big upsets!!!

  • Old fashioned way that really works...put a butterknife in the freezer for a while, take it out and use the flat part to press out the hematoma.

All the blood from the injury in just in one section, if you apply some kind of cold compress and gently press on it, it will spread out and get reabsorbed by the body quicker..
