Does your DH/Dad/FIL?

I've noticed when DD gets really upset for some reason that the men in my life tend to do something like: they squeak Sophie repeatedly right in her face, they wistle, they clap. What is the deal?! My mom thinks it's b/c maybe they're trying to think of something that has made her happy in the past to try to calm her. In the heat of it, though, it's a bit annoying. Anyone else's "men" do this?

Now that you say this, YES! I feel like DH is quite loud when he sings songs, plays with LO and FIL is sometimes calm but I feel like they almost cant "read LO" and figure out when he wants to have quiet time or at least just chill out a bit.

No. DH is actually really good at calming DD, but maybe its because she's our second.

To be honest, I know its annoying when they aren't doing what you'd do, but you have to give them credit for trying. I know a lot of men that would simply hand the baby back to mom or Grandma and not even try.

OH DH IS THE LOUDEST MAN EVER!! Sophie gets to squeeking, and anything that lights up and makes music/noise goes off too! It drives me crazy and sometimes it works..lol idk guess he figures if he distracts him from whatever is bothering him then he'll be ok.

My Mom does this!  I keep telling her its making it worse but she keeps doing it!

DH seems to think that "Ameno" by Era is the answer to everything... she gets super upset, and so he plays Ameno at a rather high volume.... I have to keep telling him to turn it down, as it might hurt her ears.
