Should I wake a sleeping baby?

I took DD with me to meet a friend for dinner tonight.  She missed her "mid-evening"  catnap and fell asleep in the car on the way home.  Now she is sound asleep in the car seat, but it's time for bottle and bed.  Do I wake her up? Or just feed her when she wakes up and hope she goes back to sleep quickly?

  • We never wake a sleeping baby.

  • we don't. we sorta collapse around him when he does sleep.

  • During the day, I wake LO when it's been 3 or 4 hours since she's eaten.  This way she sleeps her long stretches during the night, not during the day.  She's been pretty much STTN since she was 8 weeks.
  • If dd's evening nap begins on the ride home from daycare I give her an hour but then I wake her...to do her bedtime routine.

If we are out and its past the bedtime routine...I usually leave her in the carseat till she wakes...feed her change her and put her in her crib.

  • If it were my DD, I would wake her, feed her, keep her up an hour and then bed. Otherwise she would sleep until like 1am and then want to be up for 2 hours before going back to bed... my DD1 was like that too. You know your baby best :)

oh no!!  that was us last night.  we would get her to sleep, lay her down & she would scream.  not like her at all, she usually goes down really easy.  Fingers crossed that last night was an isolated incident.
