Babies: 3 - 6 Months

My FFFC

I hate that he won't use a paci. I love BFing and its great, and I really do loooooooove it when he's all snuggled up and getting num nums. BUT. When he's full, changed and just wants to comfort suck I seriously want to just go hide under a rock. he won't take his binkies at all, and its not that we didn't start early enough, he had one at the hospital. I don't mind him wanting to comfort nurse at night, but I just hate being a binkie! What can I do to get him to like binkies more?

  • Sorry! :( That has to hurt!   He probably won't ever take one.

    Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

  • My daughter didn't take a pacifier until she was 3.5 months.  My mother was watching her in the daytimes, and she tried it a couple of times with no luck.  And then one day- POOF!  She loved it.  So, don't lose hope =)
  • Try a different brand. DD didn't like Playtex, but she likes Nuk.

You might also encourage him to have another measure of comfort, like a blankie or sucking his thumb.

  • I have a friend that was in this same predicament.  She's hoping her newborn will take a paci since her DS never did.
