If LO goes down for naps easily but bed not so much...

We follow EASY and LO goes down for naps so easily, normally without any fuss at all.  Bed time is usually a different story.  We have a bedtime routine that involves bath, lotion, P.J.'s, nurse, bed.  She is in bed around 7 each night.  I don't nurse her to sleep, just until she is drowsy, pop the paci in and put her in her crib.  Some of the time she dozes off quickly, but a lot of the time she cries.  Sometimes we can sooth her to sleep and sometimes she just needs to be cuddled.

I am wondering if anyone has tried any tricks or has any tips that have worked for their LO in similar circumstances.  TIA

  • could she still be hungry if you are cutting off the nursing session instead of her?

  • Sorry, I should have phrased that better.  I nurse her until her sucking slows a lot.  Compared to how she eats through the day, I know she is getting a full tummy.

This. Also, if you don't want to nurse her to sleep then why don't you move nursing to earlier in your routine. That way you can let her nurse as much as she wants. Then maybe you could do a few stories and put her down drowsy.
