dairy sensitivity - can you eat ANY dairy?

My baby is three and a half months old. I have been off all dairy (including hidden dairy) since Thanksgiving due to a few weeks of green poop and a few tiny dots of blood in her poopy diapers. The doctor wasn't sure if it was a fissure or not and said to try no dairy. Her poop went back to bf poop but am now wondering if I should try dairy again. She had no other symptoms except for green poop with a little bit of blood. A lactaton expert said sometimes hidden dairy is okay?  She also said yogurt can be too... Can any of you breastfeeding moms eat some dairy? Thanks!

Re: dairy sensitivity - can you eat ANY dairy?

  • I have a lot of food allergies and can have Coconut Milk Yogurt (get it from Vitamin Cottage).

This isn't completely on track for what you are asking, but it might help you. :)

  • I had to cut out all dairy (including hidden) from the time my kiddo was 2 months until very recently. I have noticed that I can eat a small amount of dairy and he is ok with it, but only within the past few weeks. My best friend was also on a dairy free diet and her baby is almost 5 months old now and can tolerate all dairy just fine. I say just maybe try a tiny bit and if you notice any of the same symptoms, then you know that it's not quite time yet!
