Babies: 3 - 6 Months

What's your baby's favorite Moby position?

I've got a Moby and a sling. She hates the sling, and I thought she hated the Moby. I'd only tried the cradle hold, and she screamed bloody murder. I was able to keep her in the hug hold for a good 5-10 minutes the other day, though. Woot! What position does your baby like best?

  • She needs to be able to see everything around her or she gets very mad.. so we do the facing-out hold and that's it.

  • When I need her to nap I put her in the hug hold.  She screams for a few moments (usually around 2 mins) and then falls right asleep.

When I go out and its not nap time I put her in the outward hold.

S hated the moby until a few weeks ago but now she really seems to like it.  We never could do those newborn or cradle holds.

  • I'm interested to hear this! I haven't used my Moby since Henry was a lot smaller, and I'm not sure of the best way to carry him. I used to always use the newborn hug hold, but he's not going to tolerate having his legs scrunched up now!

That really bothered me about the sling - when I put her in and her legs were all scrunched up, I couldn't tell if she just hated the position or it hurt her legs.

Of course, the last time I tried it, she just flat refused to bend her legs and stood up in the sling. She's small but very, very strong. LOL

Maybe try letting the legs hang out in the hug hold.  S wont let me have her legs in anymore either so I just push them all the way through and make sure that fabric is really tight under her but.  Then she is still against me but has nothing to push up on.

  • DD hates the cradle hold also but loves the hug hold
