So far I've only taken dd to the doctor's office and to daycare, and that's it. It just seems like such a hassle to take her with me to get groceries or run errands since I have to bundle her all up and she doesn't particularly care for her carseat. Plus, I developed back pain while I was on maternity leave, so it's not fun to carry her around in her car seat.
Am I the only one who hasn't taken their LO anywhere yet?

I got a Moby thinking that I could use that to take dd out and about, but she hates being in it, she really doesn't want anything touching her head! Maybe when she's a bit older and has better neck/head control I can use it.
DD pretty much goes everwhere I go. Except when im going to work. Occasioanlly I will make a quick stop before picking her up after work. She loves bieing out and about. She actually naps better when were out doing things.
I take him almost everywhere, mostly out of necessity, although I usually have my husband to help on the weekends. I try to group errands, so he's not constantly in and out of his car seat. We've gone out to brunch and lunch a couple of times but haven't gone out to dinner -- I can't figure out a good way to work it around his evening schedule and I don't want him to be ridiculously fussy and bother everyone else, so we just eat at home.
I'm lucky, though -- he likes his carseat and he seems interested in everything on our excursions.

DD loves going places. I try to take her with me on an errand at least once a week. She does fine in the car seat. It is a pain to take the carrier out of the car, but I don't have to lift it very long to get it in the base/stroller part (I have a travel system). I'll be happy when she can sit up on her own so I can just put her in the cart at the grocery store.
If I'm doing a full grocery run, I'll put her in the bjorn so I won't have to push the stroller and the grocery cart. She really likes that too.
I take him pretty much everywhere, but I do prefer to grocery shop alone so I do it when DH is home with LO or on my lunch break.
We like taking him "out" together, though, and he has done well at restaurants, BJ's, Wal-Mart, the mall, wherever so far.
Unless someone is home for him to stay with, he goes with me.
Heck sometimes even if someone is home, we will all go out, & he goes with us.
I take them both with me everywhere except work.
The best advise I got before the boys were born was to try to get out as much as possible. It was difficult at first to get everyone ready out the door, but I the more we do it the easier it gets.
I can't carry them around in their carseats (30+ lbs on each arm) but we use the double stroller, or I wear one and put the other in the cart.
ETA: I lied. I do carry them in their carseats if I am just running into Starbucks or the Post Office. You should see the looks I get carrying two carseats at a coffee ::hehe::Same!!
