Hey ladies. I'm a breastfeeding Mama. But, sometimes she does get some formula. Today she only drank like an ounce of a bottle. What are the rules with putting them in the fridge for later use? No good?
I'm pretty sure other mothers follow the 2 hour then dump rule. I don't. I have found that a bottle of formula (no matter if DS has eaten from it, or if its been heated multiple times, etc.) can last up to 24 hrs if in the fridge, 4 hours if out on the counter/out & about. I say if you made it fresh, gave it to LO, but she didn't want it, then put it in the fridge and try again later.

After 1-2 hrs after eating from it, the bacteria multiple and it becomes no good to eat. There's usually instructions on the container. Here's what ours say:
-good up to 24 hours in fridge after opening container of concentrate

I go by this as well.

THIS. Baby can get very sick from formula that's been left out. My son got thrush because my mom gave him a bottle that had been reused.
Re: Formula and the fridge
It it wasn't warmed up I let it stay in the frige for the max of 24 hours. This happens sometimes for us well cause I supplement with formula.
PLEASE TOSS IT!!!!
