Cloth diapering's not really an option for us (we don't have a W/D) but I did my research and decided to go with the "greenest" of the disposable diapers, Nature Babycare. I even stocked up on size 1s since they didn't have a newborn size. We were using Pampers Swaddlers newborns, partly because that's what we got from the hospital.
Well, the problem is, I just don't like the Nature Babycare as much. It doesn't fit him as well, and it's much stiffer than the Pampers. I like the idea of a chemical-free diaper for his skin, but I have to think a softer diaper feels better to him. And the Swaddlers fit his body well.
So, we're back to Pampers... sorry, Earth!
Re: My FFC: I really, really wanted to use a "green" diaper
This. Diapers are expensive ENOUGH...companies if you want us to go green you gotta drop the prices a bit. It perpetuates the cycle...forced to use pampers bc I can't afford the green ones.
I actually found the prices to be somewhat similar, at least for the Swaddlers (those things aren't cheap!). Amazon has some good deals, especially with their "Subscribe and Save" program.
