DH and I weren't married when we bought our house... in fact, we weren't even engaged yet. The mortgage was in my name so when we went to the closing they called us Mr.and Mrs. MY last name." He was pretty upset about how presumptious they were. People do it without thinking but I still think in this day and age they shoulnd't assume that everyone who buys a house, lives together and has a baby is married.

We weren't married when we bought our home as well. For the first year our next door neighbor called DH my FI and I would constantly remind her that we were not engaged. It was irritating, but people are annoying.

LOL. My parent's good friends didn't approve of "living in sin." Made me laugh because DH and I moved in together after dating only 6 months. My parents weren't thrilled at first but they adjusted. Their daughter (and now husband) had to lie about living together and it was always this big secret trying to make sure they didn't get busted.

So even though they didn't approve of our situation at least I was honest with my parents about it rather than being in my mid-20s and scared to tell them I live with my BF.

Lol ladies! I know I shouldn't really get upset but whatever. I do look forward to the day when we'll all share a last name. It'll be so much easier . The funny thing is that DD's insurance and everything is under my name and my name is all over her file. Oh well, I get it.
