I am supplementing my pumped BM with a few oz of formula (long story) and want to know if I can prepare DS's bottles in advance with powdered formula and store 1 or 2 in the fridge?
I have been putting 3-4 oz of BM in the bottles and storing them in the fridge. Then, I wait until DS is ready to eat to mix the powder formula with the water and then I add the mixed formula to the BM right before he eats. I am trying to help DS still get BM when he goes to MIL but don't want to strap her with the mixing/heating/etc.
THANKS!!!
Re: Quick ? for BF/Formula supplementers
We bought one of those Dr. Brown's formula pitchers at BRU and we make a pitcher every night. Then we put the BM and formula in the bottles for the next morning and put in the fridge, then we only have to grab them in the morning. Using the Dr. Brown's pitcher causes much fewer bubbles in the formula (than shaking it right before) and therefore much less gas in baby.
