About a week ago my ds learned how to roll over from his tummy to his back. This was obviously a lot of fun for him because everytime I put him on his tummy he would roll onto his back all the while smiling. Well as of yesterday he's been having a little bit of diffuculty with that. When I place him on his tummy (and I try to do this several times throughout the day) his arm is back against his side which prevents him from rolling over. I'm constantly bending it up towards his shoulders but it always ends up back along his side. I'm so so scared that he might be successful at rolling over and roll over on it and breaking his arm! I know that's a little extreme but he's a strong and very big-little boy! Also, he's been getting so frusturated when he's down on his tummy because he can't roll over and he really wants to. As a result, tummy time is now more like a tummy moment... last 2 minutes tops when it use to last 10 minutes. So if anyone reading this has encountered this problem please let me know!
Re: Tummy time has turned into a tummy moment
IMO if rolling back against his arm was painful he would not do it, or he may try and then stop from the pain.
DS sometimes has his arm stuck backwards like a chicken wing and cant roll properly, but i leave him to work it out himself, only if he gets really distressed will i help him, after all these little things they do are all about learning IMO.
