Just a quick update on me: I went for my weekly OB appt this morning and most signs pointed to 'great' but the doc decided to pull some bloodwork because a couple of things were indicating that I was borderline Pre-Eclampsia.
This afternoon she received the bloodwork back and it showed that I had low platelets so I was given instructions to come to L&D for overnight monitoring. Mostly watching heartbeats, blood-pressure, and contractions. Making sure that I don't dip into the Pre-E range, which apparently can happen relatively quickly.
Also, apparently if you have under 100 platelet count they wont do an epidural or a spinal block, which clearly is NOT ideal when it comes to c-sections (which I will have since both babies are breech). My platelets from this morning's draw were at 104 - too close for comfort. This evening, they have risen to 111. 120 is normal, according to the nurse.
Anyway, I will stay here at least until the Peri is able to come see me tomorrow. Depending on what he sees we'll either a) go home for more bed-rest, b) stay in hospital for more monitoring, or c) deliver the babies as early as this weekend. Who knows?!?!
Re: 35 weeks - sent for overnight monitoring
