Ah well...I think that's always a possibility, even with purees or mum mums or what have you. It's also something that BLW guides talk about in terms of monitoring your kids. I imagine though that (A) this particular kid has had broccoli before and (B) the recommendation for babies just starting out on broccoli is more spear like and less...little bush of broccoli like. In fact I know it is.

A 6 month+ baby is just as likely to choke on something you put in its mouth than something it controls and puts in its own mouth.
And all parents and caregivers should have first aid training.
