Is it really sooo bad??

So DH's very well off aunt and uncle bought us this blanket as a shower gift.  It is the most awesome blanket ever. It's the perfect weight for him to sleep at night, not to hot, not to cool.  It nice and snuggly and soft.  Washes well, is super cute and is all around my favorite blanket ever.  So I knew it would be expensive but I love this thing so much I was willing to pay 40 bucks or so to get another one.  I looked it up and found it here. https://www.babyjar.com/index.php?p=catalog&parent=39&pg=1.  IT IS A $70 BLANKET!!!  I was shocked.  I would never pay $70 for a blanket no matter how much I loved it.  So I did what any frugal person would do and I went on ebay and I found one, brand new, still wrapped!!  I was so excited it was being auctioned started at $16.50, with 20 mins left and NO BIDS.  So I bought it, no one else bid and I got it for $16.50.  A $70 blanket for $25 total with shipping.  Hell YEAH!!   There's only one problem and no matter how good a deal I got, DH can't seem to get past it: It's PINK.  There is no way DH is letting his SON sleep under a pink blanket.  I even swore I would only use it here at the house, I would never take DS out with it.  He can't get past it.

 SO I ask you ladies.  Is it really THAT bad to put a boy under a pink blanket to sleep in the privacy of our home?  Really??

Haha. Use it. He'll never know. And it's not like you're dressing him in pink outfits, it's only a blanket.

I wouldn't care at home.  Macy usually wears boy pajamas because I ended up with a lot of pajamas for DS.

I've always said, if the next one is a girl, she's going to be wearing an awful lot of boy clothes around the house...

haha- nope!  If I had a boy my second time around, he would be in a pink bouncy seat, and some other girly things. Who cares what color the blankie is?

I don't think it's a big deal. DS sleeps under a pink and blue blanket. I think people who stereotype sex and color need to grow up.

Wouldn't bother me.  I asked DH if baby # 2 is a boy if we could use some of DD's pink blankets for him and he said yes.

i got a pink blanket from someone and his legs are swaddled in it as we speak... hubby doesnt mind either

I'd think twice about using any blanket. The one time we tried it for naptime, we found he had pulled it over his face! That was scary.

We use sleepsacks for nighttime and a blanket for naps but only if someone is right there and checking on him constantly.
