A bit of background: I developed PIH at 33w when pg with #1. It was monitored, I was on reduced activity, and he was an emergency c/section at 37w due to fetal distress. I was not in labor at the time.
Well, I'm 34w with #2, and the blood pressure is slowly creeping up. As of last week's appt, it was "good, all things considered" - not high enough for a diagnosis of PIH yet, but significantly higher than is normal for me, and up from my previous appts. Normal for me is around 100/60 -110/70; I was at 128/88 a week ago.
Anyway, I'm noticing slightly reduced fetal movement. There is movement, but she seems sluggish this week. When I was pg with #1, the PIH basically wrecked my placenta and ds was unresponsive prior to birth. I caught it through kick counts and it led to the c/section. I'm worried that, because of my history and BP, my placenta is not doing as well as it should.
Should I ask for an ultrasound to check? Would they give me one? Or do I just keep monitoring and head in to L&D as needed?
Any BTDT?
Re: If I ask, will they give me an ultrasound? PIH-related..
I would call your doctor and see. It doesn't hurt to ask. If they don't go to L&D and they will give you one.

ASK!!!
Having a very similar situation as yours with DS1 (PIH and hosp. BR at 33 with emergency sec at 37), and then a stillbirth at 25w with a dx of pp-pre-e.....
You can't be too careful. Please ask for an u/s ASAP, and please let us know how you are.

Thanks! I know what to look out for, and I know that, so far, dd is ok. I'll ask at my appt early next week, but if LO stops responding to juice, I'll go right in.
As soon as my BP started to creep up, I put myself back on the '3 kick counts/day' plan they gave me when I was diagnosed the first time. So far, the kid needs to cook a little longer if possible, she's responding as expected, and my BP isn't as bad as it was with pg#1.
