What do you think of the name Travis?

DH and I have always struggled with boy names. Like we have none.

He's suddenly partial to Travis, and I relate the name to a kid I knew in elementary school (let's just say not the coolest kid). So I'm curious to see how others perceive it. Especially since the chances of us using it are very slim, ha!

i LOVE that name! if we had a boy that is most likely what we would have named him - although i am not a fan of matchy sibling names and with tyler it would be sooo matchy - but i dont know any travis's and totally love the name!

I like it, I've only know a few people with that name...one being a HS boyfriend...who was oh so dreamy LOL!...actually he sort of looked like Dr. McDreamy come to think of it.

It's one of those names that's nice but I don't think a lot of people think of. I knew one Travis growing up - a friend's younger brother. He's a great guy, very nice and super cute.

The only Travis I knew was the kind of guy who would give you the shirt off of his back and be fun to hang around. But like I always say, you have to pick a name that you are going to be comfortable yelling for the next 18+ years. You know, (name) put that down, (name) get that out of your mouth, (name) stop doing that, (name) go to your room! Hahaha!

I grew up with a Travis and he was kind, cute, and smart.  I like it. And Trav was totally his nickname!

I really like it.  I have a fabulous Travis in my kindergarten class this year.  He is bright, interesting, has a great sense of humor and is incredibly polite!

I am kind of partial too it as it's my best friend's husband's name.  He's a great guy, hard worker and has the most gorgeous blue eyes!

As soon as I read the subject, I had a negative feeling because my elementary school bully was named Travis! Strange coincidence. So, I wouldn't use it, but purely for personal reasons.

K&C - love the name Travis!  I know a few and they are all nice guys so I have good associations with that name.

I like it!  My grandma says my dad always wished his name was Travis when he was a kid, so I'd always think of that.

I love the "T" names for boys... Travis, Tyler, Taylor.   Tyler is up near the top of our (ever-changing) list right now, actually!  Good luck, boy's names are super hard for us too.

The Travis in my high school was a hillbilly redneck... with a huge beater pick up... and overalls. This made me laugh. I like the name, but the connection for me will always be there.
