Anyone have VBAC advice or resources to recommend?

I plan to try for a VBAC if the baby comes on its own.  In case he doesn't we have scheduled a c-section for 5.10.10, several days after my EDD.  The OB wanted me to schedule during the week before my EDD, but I worry about taking him out before he is done in there :) Right now I have mixed feelings about the VBAC.  I had to fight for it (probably going to have to continue to do so until my delivery date), but I am a little nervous about it.  Anyone else go this route?  Any advice or resources to recommend?  TIA!

I have to say that the biggest factor in my successful VBAC was the support of not just my OB, but the nurses, residents and the attending OB.  If you really feel like you're fighting, and it's *really* important to you...you might look into finding a more supportive medical team.

    good luck!  ask me anything!

    Thanks for the link.

Congrats on the successful VBAC!  There was a big lawsuit at a local hospital a few years ago and now many obs in my area do not do them as a matter of policy.  My current OB office prefers repeat c-sections, but will support me trying a VBAC under certain circumstances (the baby comes on its own, is in the proper position, etc).  I am fine with their requirements because I only want to try the VBAC if I feel it is the best thing for me and the baby anyway.  I do worry though that their obvious favor for c-section will ultimately result in a c-section... but I don't feel like I have much choice regarding doctors and I am glad that this office will at least allow me to choose to try one... and there are 8 or 10 doctors in the practice so it will really be pure luck as to who might be on when I go into labor and the corresponding level of support for VBAC. :/
