I know how most of us feel about prego, preggers and now preggerific
What are some others that you have heard and what do you like/not like? I do prefer to say pregnant, but some others are ok and some I just don't get. Examples:
Up the duff - where did this come from? It seems to be British in origin.
I fell pregnant - also seems to be British. Don't know why but I love when I hear this.
Re: Pregnancy euphemisms (did I spell that right?)
I like "in a family way"

Preggeroni? (I don't know if I made that up or if I saw someone else post it first lol!)
Bun in the oven..
With child..
In the family way..
... and of course...
Knocked up.
I prefer just plain ol' pregnant, but I don't mind the abbreviation KU. I would never say "knocked up" in real life.
that one rubs me the wrong way.
My sister seems to think she's clever when she talks about "baking a baby" and being "ready to pop."
Har har har.....

It rubs me the wrong way too, that's why I find it so funny.
When I get ku (another I would never use IRL) I'm going to get a shirt that says "all I wanted was a backrub." I deal with my IF issues by making jokes about it.

I think instead of prego, I'm going to start telling people that I'm hoping to "bake a spaghetti casserole". Or when I get pregnant, maybe that's how I'll annouce it on FB, and only my GP friends will know what it means.
"Sarah is baking a spaghetti casserole."
Has a certain ring to it, right??
I've always liked "bun in the oven"
I like the abbreviation KU on here but like a pp said...I would never actually say to someone in real life that I am "knocked up"

hehe. that's cute!
I usually just say pregnant or knocked up.. the other ones are too annoying, and I don't really like "in a family way" because I already consider me, my dh & my mutts a family.
I agree - they are kind of antiquated sayings. They irk my inner feminist.

after watching the worst christmas pageant ever it was decided that when i am pregnant i am going to say i am with child excessively.
Cautiously expecting our second little petri dish baby - stick, Baby, stick!
A friend of mine is pregnant and she took particular offense when her aerobics instructor declared, "Laura popped!"
A girl I use to work with, Brittany, had a convo with her ex-BF's daughter (that she has all but legally adopted) that she has a baby in her tummy and in a few months there will be a baby...
The little girl asked her, "Britty, WHY DID YOU EAT A BABY?????"
So now we jokingly call pregnant people baby eaters... it is way not as funny typed out as it was to hear the little girl say it but you know how inside jokes go!
Thanks for the shout out Gym!
