Re: Bradly method...

  • There's actually a 90% success rate of delivering naturally when you use the Bradley Method. Maybe your dr. just isn't supportive of delivering med free. I know a lot of doctors aren't in favor of it.

  • I agree with PP I find this a little hard to believe and I would want to know more facts than simply "everyone gets an emergency c-section" what about the Bradley Method is he saying contributes to that? I would research this claim before I gave it much of any merit.

  • Is your Dr supportive of you doing a natural birth? This sounds a lot like "they were all 'emeregency' c-sections because it had been __ hours and my shift was ending"

Then again I had a bradley birth and loved it, so maybe I am biased.

  • I don't have any strong feelings about this, but I will say that none of my friends who have used the Bradley Method have had a C-section.

  • Sorry...I'm completely lurking over here and wanted to weigh in.

I had a successful natural med free birth using the Bradley method. I recommend it to EVERYONE I know...even if they're not interested in in a med free birth. I learned so much from the classes and really enjoyed it all.

A lot of times...it's the doctors/medicine that get in the way (my docs also discouraged this...down to while I was IN labor...it's really not their business:))  If you know what kind of birth experience you want...it's entirely possible.

Good luck. But please don't just let one doctor tell you something and take that as the end all. Do some research and learn about it if you're really interested!

  • I agree with PP.  I'm currently taking Bradley classes (BTW it's spelling Bradley).  And I love them. I've learned so much and so has my husband. I think the only reason a doctor would say this is if he/she was very ignorant.  I don't agree at all.
