I have no vaca or sick time for the rest of the year (well maybe 2 days of sick time but it accrues at less than a day a month)
I was off on maternity leave earlier in the year, off for a month due a medical issue and it was absolutely awful trying to take today off to stay home with my sick son (DH stayed home yesterday) Unfortunately I know this won't be the last day this year I will need off and I could be fired at anytime if I don't work for whatever reason. I have a chronic illness which usually uses up all my sick days in a year either because I'm sick or I have doctors appts out of town
Anyway, DH and I could financially make it on his income alone but we would have to make several sacrifices and live on bare bones basically. I make pretty good money so it's not like exchanging daycare and gas money for my income would be an even swap (not even close)
I don't know if I want to stay home but my job is really stressing me out for several reasons. DH could work extra shifts and take more classes to get done with school faster if he didn't have babysit our son on his days off.
I like my job itself but can't stand the corporation or management and always feel like I'm walking on egg shells.
Anyway--I know others have been in this situation--what did you do? how'd you decide/
I'm thinking DH and I will try and live off his income alone for 2 months and see if we can do it.
Re: take this job and shove it???
If your Dr, Places you on it, you can not be fired.
Did you use up all of your FMLA time earlier in the year? If anytime is left, even just a few days, you can use it intermitently to keep from losing your job.
