The post below got me thinking.

Last night a regular posted a picture of another regular in something she thought was inappropriate to wear for summer. I, for one, did not know that the picture was of another nestie that posts regularly. I guess the nestie that posted it doesn't like the other girl.

In my opinion, I think posting a picture of another nestie (whether you like them or not) and making a negative comment is just out of line. I'm not saying that ripping on AE's pics or ripping on horrible people like M2E or FON isn't ok, but I just think when it's two regulars it's a little low.

Did anyone else know what I'm talking about? Does everyone not like the nestie from last night and i'm just out of the loop?

I don't call stuff out often but when I found out the pic was of another regular it really bothered me. JMO

I dont think its right to take anyones picture and paste it around. Pp put stuff in thier sig to share not be spread around. At least thats how I see it.

It's on page ten posted by Pmarie entitled POLL.....I can c&p if you want. I didn't want to say anything because I generally like pmarie as do lots of other regulars. I just thought it was out of line.

Um, she took the pic that's in her sig and posted it again. With no alterations to it, and it was a valid question IMO. Who wears a sweatshirt in the summer while pregnant? Plus... there was absolutely no camera data attached to the pic. You have to know what you're doing to take that off. It's not like it gives away personal info, just the camera type, when it was taken, etc...

Be pissed at me, or don't, I don't care, but I don't believe her. The whole thing is sketchy.

Ok, I wore a sweatshirt yesterday too with a t-shirt underneath. It was cold here and cold indoors with AC on...so with that in mind someone should be able to take a belly pic of mine and repost it and insinuate i'm an idiot because I wore that?

K8 i'm not sure what camera data you're talking about. Did cbbc say that she gave out personal info with that pic or something? I only saw where she was upset that her picture got reposted over something she wore indoors with the AC on.

Her whole story is incredibly unbelievable. This is just another bullet added to the list. I'm in the military, and as soon as you start signing documents, you've pretty much signed your life away. And her only explanation? A lawyer got him out of it. _bull_shit

I know people that have gotten out of the military after signing on the dotted line. It's hard, but not impossible. I could not tell you if she's telling the truth or not and to me it's not even about the two nesties. It's about taking a siggy pic or pic of a nestie and reposting for your own comment or pleasure while trying to insult someone.

All I know is as much as I Do think she is full of bs...I think her shirt combo is super cute. But if I found out other nesties were taking my pics and posting them around for critisism (sp?) I would be hurt/upset.

I like her, no reason not too. Who cares if she was wearing a sweatshirt. I live in MN and still wear sweatshirts in the summer!

I wouldn't post a pic of another nestie just to make fun of her. But that's just me.

The nestie who's pic was posted though, I have a hard time swallowing everything that's happened to her in the last few months. It's a little hard to believe.

what was the funniest thing about it was everyone in response to PM poll was "hell no I wouldn't wear a sweatshirt in summer" then as soon as cbbc posted her "it's cold" post everyone started to back peddle.

And yeah, it's POSSIBLE to get out of it.  Extremely hard, time consuming, and costly, but possible.

His lawyer apparently did it in one day, remember that?  She told us about the signing up thing one night, then there was one full day, and the next afternoon, he was out of it.

Now THAT'S not possible.  Hell, the Navy slogan is practically "Hurry up and Wait".  We've dealt with it all the time.

As someone who's had her bio pics stolen I think it's safe to say that if you put it in there and it's not protected in any way then it's fair game.

I wouldn't do it, but it's on the internet and you have no control what people do with photos on the internet.

I have no idea what happened last night... but last summer, I often wore sweatshirts. It was FREEZING where I worked, so I wore them a lot.

I don't know enough about the military to know whether or not her DH could get out of it. All I know is that even if he did manage to get out of it with a lawyer, the whole thing was SO quick. One day, it was "OMG, my husband joined the miliarty without asking me... we need to go to therapy" and like two days later he was out and they were fine. WTF?

Again, It's not about the two nesties IMO, it's more about posting a pic of another nestie with the sole purpose of insult.

Honestly?  I happen to like cbbc.  Are some of her stories outlandish - yes.  Could she be lying about some/all of it? Maybe.  The fact that she was wearing a sweatshirt over a t-shirt in the summer - is not enough proof to catch her in a lie though, IMO.

As for pmarie's post, I really didn't see anything wrong with it.  She didn't alter the pic and posted it after she received responses in her poll.  I think her post would have been just as hurtful (to cbbc)had she NOT posted the pic and just said "hey check out cbbc's siggy" instead.

Anywho, unless cbbc has done something else I am not aware of - her exaggerations (or lies) haven't really made me dislike her. 

I do think if she is (in fact) telling stories, it's really pathetic.  I hope she isn't. Especially about her pg or about the twins.

I may have misread Pmarie's post, or misjudged her intentions...

But, I don't think that she was out to "insult" anybody...

I don't speak for her, but I think she doubted the validity of the picture and posted about it.

I also doubt a lot of what cbbc says and does... For many, many reasons...

I don't think that this should be such a sore topic, because I don't think that there were any bad intentions...

Hunting all over the net for a pic of someone to use is crossing the line.  C&P without altering a pic that someone has in a siggy or in a post is fair game.   Messing with pics of babies and kids not cool.

There was nothing wrong in P's reposting of that pic. It was in cbbc's sig at the time, anyway.

It's all very fishy if you ask me and I trust that chick as far as I can throw her.

Jumping in well after the fact to say that I don't ever think it's ok to take pics and use them without permission, and I generally think it's rude to mock someone's personal appearances.  Even FON or M2E.  I don't care if it's happened to other people (it's happened to me too) or that posting it on the internet makes it available - it doesn't make it right for someone else to use it in that way.  I mean, if you do post it, you have to accept that that is a risk, but it doesn't mean it's right.

I don't think you can really draw lines between when it's ok to mock someone with their own pics and when it's not without being hypocritical.  Just my own thoughts.  But I can't control other people, so I just avoid that stuff when I can.  Shrug.

As for cbbc - I dunno.  There was a lot of fishiness.  But it doesn't phase me much one way or another.  I feel pretty neutral about her.  I appreciated that she didn't go all nuts when people stated that there was fishiness.  She just rolled with it.  I didn't think pmarie's thread was a big deal.
