Did you ever worry about movement?

Baby B seems quiet today.  I debated calling the doctor, but didn't.  I felt him move a few times, but he was unusually quiet compared to what he's normally like (the real wiggle worm of the two!).  Anyone have thoughts on this?  I'm back in for an NST and midwife appointment in a week...

Re: Did you ever worry about movement?

  • Just the other day, actually.  Baby B was quiet most of the day, which is unlike her.  I had an NST the next day, so I didn't end up calling my Peri, and it turned out that Baby B passed her test faster than A.  And ever since, she's been wild.  I think she must have been in a weird position or had a lazy day.  :)

I would suggest calling your dr. is Baby B isn't more active tomorrow.  My Peri always asks about their movement, so I don't think it would be overreacting or anything.

  • My boys have some quieter days, and they move around so that I don't always know who is doing the moving.  If it goes on another day, it's worth a call, but it sounds pretty normal to me.

  • I went to l&d last week for this very same thing. My baby b is my little mover. She had actually been quiet for 12 hours or so. So I called the ob and they said I had to go in. I had a NST and everything was fine. Her heartbeat was stronger than her sisters. The l&d nurse was really nice about it. She said eat something and drink something cold and lay down for at least an hour and see if you feel her then. if not call. They said do not feel bad about going in!
  • You need to call you doctor immediately.  They should take you in L&D and do a u/s and NST to check on the babies.  Trust me, no one is going to roll their eyes at you for this.
