need some info

does anyone know if this is o.k.? I boil water and put my son"s bottle in a cup with the boiling hot water to warm it up. I started thinking about it and worrying about the plastic being in boiling hot water. I hope i havent been exposing him to anything. anyone know. I started warming the milk on the stove now without the bottle, but i need to ease my mind about what i was doing.

    You should never heat a bottle on direct heat. The milk can be hotter in some areas and burn the baby.

    no I wasnt putting it on direct heat. i would pour the boiling water into the cup and put the bottle into it. I was just wondering whether or not to worry about the plastic melting or something coming out in it into the milk
