Re: im going nuts!

  • Candy, candy, candy.

That, and loud music, dancing around the living room, singing.  Do something to complete distract you, something you don't do with a cigarette.

  • megan!! im trying to lose weight not gain it with candy lol!!

i know i need to quit, and i keep telling myself im going to. but as soon as i get close to being out, normally i already have another pack. i do need to quit though!

MIL gets on to me all the time about quitting, she tells me im going to get cancer. she just found out she has cancer in her kidney, and doesnt want anyone else to have to go through it i guess.
  • Im with mooeta, think of it as extra money for baby shopping.
  • I agree with mooeta and lady. Sorry. No better time to quit than the present.
  • Does your DH smoke too? You should get him to quit with you.:)

  • nope, hes a non-smoker. just me. ):
  • There's a book called "The Easy Way to Quit Smoking".  It's by Allen Carr, I believe.  It really did help, even though I overlooked some of his stuff.  I really liked the patch, it made it able to break the habit of the habit, so there wasn't cravings every 10 minutes.  I only had cravings when I had a real PHYSICAL craving, not just when I did somehting I associated it with.

Also, nicotine is COMPLETELY out of your system in 3 days.  That's it.  3 days, and it's all gone, the addiction is dead.  Anything past that, it's just the habit, not a real craving.

Another good trick, when you are having a craving, drink water from a bottle or a straw.  It is the same action as smoking, and it soothes that "empty" feeling in your stomach.  That's why you gain weigth when you quit, the withdrawl mimics hunger.  Use water instead.
