It's looking like we'll probably be moving to Minneapolis this winter, and I saw in the post below that you had a good experience with the delivery.  I was just wondering what hospital you delivered at for future reference.  Thanks!  :)

    Wow! How exciting! I delivered at Methodist in St Louis Park and my midwife practice was at the Meadowview clinic (which is actually attached to the hospital). I loved them! What area do you think you'll be moving to?

    Good deal!  That's a nice central location.  :)
    I have no idea what part we'll be moving to.  We may be in trouble, because it costs a LOT more to live there than it does living here.  We'll be starting out in an apartment for sure.  I would love to live in Maple Grove, but it looks a bit pricey for us.  Any idea what areas are more LCOL?

    IT depends a lot on where you'll be working and what sort of neighborhood you want to live in. Do you want to live where you can walk to a lot of places? Somewhere that is more of a suburb?

    I'd definitely prefer more of a suburb.  I'd like it to have a Target close by for sure.  :)  I don't want to live in a bad part of town, yet I need it to be reasonably priced.  I'm going to run and check where DH will be interning most likely.

    Yeah, the area where he'd be working would play a big role in where you'd want to live. It could be a difference of a 15 min commute vs a 40 min commute. I'm going to feed the baby but I'll be back in a bit and I'll give you some suggestions on cities and neighborhoods based on where you think he'll be working.

    The place he hopes to intern at is near downtown Minneapolis.  I'm having a semi-hard time finding the address.  It's The Devil's Workshop Sound Studio.  I *think* it's on Grand Ave.

    If he's going to be in DT Mpls and you want a suburban feel, I think Maple Grove might be a good fit. You can find good deals for rentals in pretty much any area, too. Depending on how far (not just time, but distance) both of you want to drive, there are a lot of other options that might suit you. Let me know if you want any help, I love this sort of thing!
