Should I go to ER??

Ugh this has been quite a day. I got a basketball at the school I work and my dd was going nuts to play outside with it.. Well I needed her in the house so I took the ball and threw it hard up the top of our stairs hoping it would stay there. INstead it came flying down at me and whipped me in the ear. My ear is throobing and is all red. DO I need to worry about a concussion from this??

Could It do brain damage? Should I go to the ER?? I don;t know if that is dangerous or not. help!

Well, idk it was whipped pretty hard at my ear. My ear is beat red and throbbing.

You could have damaged your ear drum, especially if you were at all congested to begin with.  Take a rest, some Tylenol, and if it's still really bothering you, go in.

I have horrible wax in that ear actually. I think it might have lodged it further.

If you are sleepy, then worry about a concussion, but I really don't think a basketball would give you one.  Get ice, take tylenol and lie down.

Food for thought:  Kids get hit in the head in gym class all the time.  They never get sent to the ER.

Didn't you see that episode of The Brady Bunch about not throwing balls inside the house? Seriously though, if you find yourself nauseated or unusually drowsy, you should probably seek medical attention. Ice helps too. I think you should probably use webmd.com or another source found by Google in order to self diagnose rather than relying on us.

Forget your head, what about taking the ball from the school where you work, umm, our taxes provide that athletic equipment for kids, not for your private enjoyment.
