Fancy Nancy ?

Does anyone have the 'I can read' books?  What are they like?

Re: Fancy Nancy ?

  • DD loves these books.  They are cute, short stories and they teach you the "fancy" way to say different things to grow vocabulary.
  • We have several of them. The stories are simpler, but IMO the words are still too big. DD is 5 and loves Fancy Nancy, so I got her a few--but I was surprised to see words like "announcement" in the Level 1 books! DD loves them just as much as her hardcover Fancy Nancy books.

  • Thanks ladies!

DD loves the regular ones and I wanted to get her some more.  I think I will order some!

  • yup... very simple books that incorporate more complex words not typically found in kid literature. It's been a great way to expand DD#1's vocabulary and reading abilities....
