Sea Band Question

For ladies that have successfully used sea bands....

I am 5w and have had god awful morning sickness.  I woke up puking at 3 am and it continued until noon.  I have still be feeling queasy since then without any relief.   I bought sea bands this afternoon just to give it a try.  Don't really think they are working but I wanted to find out if I should keep them on when I go to sleep tonight?  I am just not sure when I wear them and how long.

 Thanks!

Re: Sea Band Question

  • I've been using them for about a week and they seem to work for me-- however I never actually threw up. I was nauseated 24/7 and they seemed to take the edge off my nausea. Make sure you're wearing them about 2 1/2 fingers up your wrist! Hope they help you! Smile

  • try B6  complex its a supplement. They help prevent nausa.
  • I used them a bit my last pregnancy--it seemed sometimes they helped and sometimes they didn't, so give it another try for sure.  I never wore them at night, so I couldn't tell you about that part.  Hang in there---hope you get some relief soon!

This. I saw my RE yesterday and she suggested a B6 supplement along with a half a Unisom tablet. I took it last night before bed and felt better today than I've felt in weeks. Worth a shot!

  • they take the edge off for me.  I wear them during the day, but not at night.
  • Itseems like I might have worn mine during my last pregnancy at night. I had to start wearing them today for this pregnancy. I haven't actually puked though just very nauseated. Sea bands are ugly but a lifesaver for the nausea.

  • I think on the ones I bought (not sea bands but an equivalent) say you aren't supposed to wear them 24/7, but maybe the actual sea bands are different.

Have you tried ginger pills? They work for some ladies, less for others. Also B6 is supposed to help and I believe it has helped stave off the worst of the m/s for me. My midwife also suggested Unisom at night, somehow it helps control the m/s.

    Hope you're feeling better soon!

  • My doctor had a host of recommendations to try from Red Raspberry leaf tea, B6 50mg (twice a day to spread out the release), Unisom at night, Seabands, ginger candy, and if it is really bad there are prescriptions to help with m/s you just need to contact your doctor. There is a new product that is out that is approved by the FDA called Primabella, prescription, that is suppose to work for naseau and vomiting due to m/s.  My doctors office said that a medical rep for the device came in and said this can work as quickly at 8 minutes from the moment you put it on.  Now I do not have m/s, so I cannot really vouche for any of these remedies personally.

  • I wear them all day and night. I only take them off to shower. I feel it helps some. It does not take it all away and I still throw up but not as much as I was before I started wearing them if that makes any sense.
