Adoption

KarlsSweet

Hi, I saw your response to the ttc & adoption and was wondering if CSS was one of the agencies that is against couples ttc and going through the adoption process.

We are trying to adopt through a NA agency and are using CSS as our instate agency for the home study and courses and we're told we could also use CSS if a BM is interested in us.  CSS has never said anything to me about this not being an option, in fact I have been very honest with the coordinator I'm working with there (we we're already working with the NA agency before my last bfp and I was in contact with CSS during the mc) and last week when I talked to her she asked me how my hsg test went because I told her about it.  Now I'm a little nervous, and who knows, maybe I'm just confusing things and nervous over nothing.  Anything you can tell me I would really appreciate.  Thanks.

Re: KarlsSweet

  • Hi, yes, it was CSS (and a few other ones) that told us we couldn't do both.  This was in 2008-earlier part of 2009, so maybe rules have changed.

Or maybe the rules are different because CSS is just doing your home study and passing you along to another agency.  Maybe CSS feels that as long as your primary agency allows it, then CSS is fine with TTC too?.  I don't know really, just guessing.

    What is an NA agency?

  • Thanks! When CSS calls I'll casually bring it up. Sorry, I'm just in the habit of typing NA. It's for Native-American, h is Native-American and there is a wonderful Native-American agency that is out of state that we are working with.
