to which I replied similar to how Jodi posted....something along the lines of "meh....helping should be a humanitarian thing...not a US/Haitian thing...and I'm sure if anyone really wanted to go to Haiti to recieve the "benefits" that Americans pulled together, the Haitians would gladly welcome them for extra help."
And I'm pretty sure she deleted my comment......its not there.....hmmmm.
Re: So I just had a friend post the "shame on you" FB status...
My FB status today said: I'm wondering when I'm going to stop seeing the copy and paste status update about how I should be ashamed for donating money to the people of Haiti. Because I'm not ashamed. At all.
It's interesting how NONE of the people I've seen posting that stupid c&p update have responded at all.
It sucks that she deleted your comment. :-(
sbdc--I may have to post that if anyone of my other friends post the stupid shame on you status.
Are your words copyrighted??
(drama from earlier in case you didn't see)
One of my "friends" posted it today also. I replied basically that "No one has the right to dictate how other spend their money."
His response was that "well they should at least do something here and mention "our people" once in a while.
I said "you think people don't? Brad Pitt is still involved in Katrina stuff. Don't you ever see the 'Making a Difference' segments on the news where some 14 yr old collected canned food for pantries, or some 80 yr old knits blankets for homeless? Just because there's not a telethon each week doesn't me we're not doing things for 'our own people.' "
His Response...."Freedom of speech, don't read it if you don't like it."
Then he deleted my comments. And I called him out for that..."Can't handle a debate?" "Why delete my comments?" (To that he said he was "click happy"...WTF?)
I gave up after a couple more comments. Another person sided commented a few min later with essentially my first comment.
