Hi, I am from St. Augustine and currently live in New York City. I'm strongly considering moving back to St. Augustine because 1) I really miss it and 2) cost of living. I was curious if anyone here knows what the average cost of day care for a 1  year old would be (wouldn't be moving until then) Its a whopping 1600 in NYC!! Yikes!

Is that per month? Is that full time (5 days a week)?

I don't know about St. Augustine, but here in Pensacola my daughter was $95 a week for 5 days a week until she was 2. That is the lowest we have found in the area.

Of course drop in will be different.

We pay $220/week for our 19-month-old son.  It's full-time, 5 days a week.

That's for a center, several of my friends use in-home DCP's and they pay around $160/wk.
