Needing some new ideas here...

Hello, ladies! I am in need of new ideas for GD freindly menus, especially for lunch or dinner. I am type 1 so I am no stranger to what makes my numbers go up and down, or that I need to pair protein with any carbs I eat, etc.... I have been doing this for almost 8 years now! However, no that I am getting a little farther along, I am not able to have the same freedoms to eat pretty much whatever I want as I did before I got pregnant. My insulin senstvity is starting to decrease so I am in need of some more ideas for GD-friendly foods.  Basically, these are my dietary "rules" suggested my my endocrinologist that have been working well up to this point:

No juice (too much sugar, not enough fiber). Don't have pasta, rice, or potatoes in the same day... if you have to eat one, eat one only, and very small portion sizes. No white bread or rice, not enough fiber or nutritional value, and high glycemic index. Tortillas 2 times or less per week.

Any ideas for a change-up? I am going crazy trying to fill myself up on strictly meat or veggies, but I need to keep them under control so I at least need some ideas for variety. Any input is greatly appreciated!

  • -meatballs covered with cheese, I know it's still kinda' meaty, but it was delicious, and I was actually full for a little while today, which was nice.

-salad with raspberry vinaigrette dressing and turkey- chips as the main carbs.

  • I suggest checking out the South Beach Diet cookbook. Loads of yummy things in there. My neighbor had GD and she's type1 too. She found alot of variety in SBD.
