Babies: 9 - 12 Months

Can you guys help me with this? I am a little worried.

Hello, I am coming over from 3-6. I have a solids question and figured I'd ask you. Alot of people on my board haven't started solids yet so they porbably can't help. DD has been eating solids since 4 mos. and LOVED it.  She would shake and kick she was so excited to see the fruit coming. Anyway...the past few days it seems like she lost interest in the solids. She was eating 3 times a day but now I am lucky of I get her to eat once or twice and sometimes she doesnt't finish the pack of fruit/veggie like she used to. Is this a phase or is she maybe just tired of the same Stage 1 foods over and over? I am worried she doesnt want to eat, but she is still taking her bottles fine.

  • Wow already 3x a day. DD didn't get anything 3x aday till she was 7 months.

IDK what are you feeding her?

  • Super common, seems like the all do that around 6 months, and your LO is almost there. Not sure if its a growth spurt and they want the comfort of milk or teething (Ive heard the spoon can bother their gums)...but DD did the same thing and still has her off days of not wanting solids at all. At this age, solids is for fun, taste and trying new things. Milk still remains their main source of food, so it's not a big deal if LO skips a few meals here and there. As long as she gets 24oz of milk a day, there's nothing to worry about.

  • I wouldn't be too worried as long as she is still getting plenty of formula/bm.  Keep trying with the solids but don't get too stressed.  And yes, maybe she is sick of the same foods.  Stage 2 foods are not much different than stage 1 and there are a ton more choices.  Also, you could try to make some of your own.  Mashed banana or avocado are good.

Things I did different with this pregnancy:
    1. Waited TTC until after I had 3 normal menstrual cycles.
    2. Got a new OB - amazing man who listened!
    3. 200 mg progesterone until 12 weeks
    4. Daily lovenox injections
  • I wouldn't worry b, or formula should be the main source of nutrients the first year. We started solids once a week for 5-6 months. Once a day until 7 months.  Twice a day until 10 months. We are up to three meals and small snacks. He still has day where he does food strikes. It's nothing really to worry about (especially under 6 months). Just follow her lead.

  • she was having a pack of fruit or veggie three times a day. Some days she would only do 2, but for the most part she was 3. She has always been a big eater. She was drinking 42 oz a day by the time she was 3 mos. She is in the 97%
  • She is drinking four 8 oz bottles a day, sometimes five.
