Ok I'm having one of those days that everyone says you will just before delivering where I'm tired, and nothing is wrong but you just feel somethings not right.
So... I'm Not Hungry and doc says thats normal. so I'm really not eating in a now 20 hour time frame I have ate 1 dinner roll a sugar/ taste free jello cup and drank 3 glasses of milk and enought water to fill my bathtub.
All of this said WHY IS MY SUGAR SO HIGH!!!
not supposed to go over 140 at the highest 1hour after a meal and it's 185 and the last thing I ate was at 5pm.
Anyone else have this issue? Should I be worried?
Re: Why is my sugar so High....
My perinatal nurse that I speak to weekly told me that our bodies will produce sugar on its own. Even though you've hardly eaten anything, you've only had carbs and you haven't eaten any protein to help balance out the carbs that you have eaten which explains why your sugar is high. Try to eat something high in protein with your next meal or snack.
My DH is a dietician and says that if you go too long without eating (ie. more than 8-10 hours overnight for example), then your liver starts producing insulin in larger quantities, making your BS numbers high. That is why a lot of women have high fasting numbers or high numbers post breakfast.
I snack during the night and eat 1 oz of cheese about 2 times a night and my fasting numbers are <100.
