Mycoplasma testing

When we first started seeing our RE back in September he prescribed Doxycycline for each of us to take simultaneously. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe this is common practice for all new patients. Shortly after the antibiotic treatment we had a SA done. Results weren't good. Although blood work and semen showed that neither of us were carrying the bacteria.

I just scheduled a second SA test for later this week. The nurse gave me the costs involved and said that they would be testing for the bacteria again. Is it standard procedure to do mycoplasma testing this close together? Doesn't it seems like a bit of an overkill?
