I got one dose of it on Thursday evening. It did stop whatever contractions I was having, and I didn't have any side effects. I don't know what the side effects would be if you are using it longer-term, though. Sorry if this isn't too helpful!

I have been on for a little over a week now. At first I was taking 10mg every 6 hrs and that wasn't bad. It would just make my heart race at first and make me feel really jittery. It stopped the contractions for a week. I am now taking 20mg every 4 hrs and now its giving me really bad headaches. I don't know if there are any long term affects from it. I just know its medication to lower bp so if you get dizzy/black out you should let your dr. know bc your bp might be too low.

i started at 10mg every 6 hours and that eventually ended up being 20mg every 4 hours. the doctors didn't know that it was truly helping but kept me on it. i still contracted but they hoped it was less on it than off and kept me taking it to be a little more conservative. fwiw, my uterus is just irritable though, i even contracted through mag whenever i had it.
10 mg every 6 hrs for me. I notice that my face gets flushed about 1/2 hour after I take it and I have not been sleeping as well. The sleeping thing may not be related to the meds.
I was on it to stop contractions after being on mag sulfate for 2 days - 10mg every 4 hours for 6 days (until I reached 35 weeks). It works. I haven't had any cervical changes or serious contractions since and my doctor uttered 41 weeks to me last week...maybe it worked to well
