Working moms with PPD or PPA...

Have you told your boss that you have PPD or PPA?  Do you feel like your diagnosis is affecting your ability to work, or have you missed a lot of work because of it?  I am trying to debate whether I should share this info or not, because I have had a really rough time with work.  To top it off, this is a brand new job I started after my maternity leave, and I feel like I haven't made a good impression over the last 3 months.  What do you think?

I'm not planning to tell them about my PPD. If you feel it's affecting your work at the new job you might want to consider it, but I'm always of the opinion that work doesn't need to know about personal stuff.

at the time my boss and i had personal differences and i ended up in her office and broke down crying, i couldn't not tel her.  i think it kinda freaked her out but it helped her back off of me.  If you are concerned about it affecting your job performance maybe mention it to your boss that you're going through some mental health issues following the birth of your baby and you're working to improve it so that you can function better at work.

i found that having a purpose at my job was crucial to helping me get through ppd and so in my mind they kinda went hand in hand, kwim?

My immediate boss knows (we are close, and I wanted to let him know why I was having so many appointments) and other coworkers I'm close to know that I see a counselor, but I don't share details.

I wouldn't with a newish job. I am really open about it at work. I've worked there for 7 years and have a somewhat Sr. position in our office. I've always been really open though so I don't think they were surprised.
