I don't think that you have to toss it. I *think* that there is something that you can do to get the soap out....let me go check and I will let you know.
That is so frustrating! Men!!!! I don't think it is ruined if he didn't soak it in the water and soap...I would contact PC (I think there is a way to email them) and ask what you can do to fix it. GL!
How old is it? If it is a well-used one (really dark) then I don't think the dishsoap would absorb that much. If it is a new stone, then yes, the soap probably absorbed. I still don't know that I would throw it away though.

OK, I just googled it. I never knew that. I also have never tasted soap.
It looks like the big concern is the soap taste being absorbed. If he rinsed it right away, it should be fine. You could always try soaking it in water and maybe using baking soda to scrub it.
We did this on accident when ours was new. We didn't realize it until the next time we used it for baking pizza and the soap got absorbed into the pizza crust. So, to get the soap out, we just baked the stone approx. 3 times with a dough on top. The dough absorbed all of the soap and we still use that stone now with no problems.

Re: DH washed my PC baking stone with dishsoap. :( :( :(
Oh, I'm sorry!
I LOVE PC! I'm meeting with a consultant on Wednesday about starting to sell it myself.
