well, I'll have to let you know! My docs said that at this point 32-34 weeks is still a reasonable goal, but our first goal is to make it at least to 28, then 30, etc. let's hope we can both keep them cooking as long as possible!

I had my girls at 30 weeks 1 day. I had a set of steroid shots at 24 weeks, and half of another set at 30 weeks (went into preterm labor).
Meorah was in the NICU for just over 40 days. No major issues. She needed to be intubated initially, but was moved to a CPAP for about a week and a half. After that, no breathing problems. She had to learn to eat and grow a bit. No brain issues, no eye problems...so far so good. But we haven't ended all of her appointments. She is now 37 weeks and home with us.
Her sister is still in the NICU for feeding problems. She also had no problems with her lungs: she came out screaming and did not need a CPAP at all. She does have pretty severe reflux, and that is what they are working on right now. We're hoping she'll be home in a week or so.
they say to estimate your twins coming home on their due date. So Meorah was early at 36 weeks, and Tzelia would still be early if she came home at 38 weeks. Both girls are just over 4.5 lbs right now and were born at around 3 lbs.
My twins were born at 31 weeks to the day and weighed 3 lbs 2 oz and 3 lbs 6 oz. They were in the NICU from Oct 7th to Nov 16th (girl) and Nov 21st (boy). Both were put on cpap at first, my girl came off after a few days. My boy was off and on for about a week. They were in the step down area of the NICU after two weeks and just grew and learned to eat from there. Brought them home at less than 5 lbs for my girl and just barely over 5 lbs for my boy. They have done PERFECT. No major issues except my girl does have some reflux that we have to treat with meds. Our little preemie family will keep you in our prayers and hope that you make it to your ultimate goal!!
I had mine at 30 weeks, they did GREAT.. get the steroid shot, eat as much as you can, as often as you can and stay off f your feet. Drink lots and lots and lots of water. then drink more water..
