I thought I would have it under control with a stool softener & some fiber supplements but that isn't helping at all. I keep "needing" to go but can't. I've never been constipated like this & I've only taken 3 total.
Any tricks? I bought some prunes last night so I'll snack on those.
Re: How do I relieve Zofran constipation?
Eat 3-5 prunes and wait a few hours. They are natural and are actually really good. I could eat an entire bag if it didn't have side effects
. If you eat them regularly you will stay regular too.
I ate 4 last night. I will eat 4 more now!
I have been having horrible constipation on the Zofran too. My doc told me all the laxatives are safe to take during pregnancy since they don't leave your digestive track. I have tried all the "natural" methods and nothing worked for me (prunes, prune juice, fiber, tons of water, exercise, etc). My doc finally told me to take miralax twice a day (label says once) until I had a bowel movement and then every 2 or 3 days if no bowel movement. If it has been several days (5 or more) they said to make sure to use a mineral oil enema to prevent tearing. Even on a laxative it took me 3 days to have a bowel movement. Apparantly the zofran REALLY slows your entire digestive tract. My doctor tried taking me off the zofran for a few days to get things going again, I almost ended up in the hospital with dehydration from all the vomitting.
Good Luck to you!
I have been taking Zofran for about 3 wks now and I've just started to get constipated.
I was up the past 2 nights b/c I felt this terrible pressure which was relieved after sitting on the toilet for about an hour!
Last night I went to the mall and walked around a lot, I also drank a lot of water, and it seemed to help
