I had thought that sleeping on wool was a GOOD thing, soothing, warm in winter, wicking/cool in summer....
But my SIL told me she would never let her son sleep on a wool pad/sheepskin (www.snugglewool.com) because there is some sort of bacteria in the wool that can cause problems in the baby.
Has anyone else heard this before?
What do you think about babies sleeping on/with wool (blankets, pads)?
Any links are also appreciated...
Re: sleeping on wool (question)
I've heard of this, but i *think* it's in regards to sheep skin blankets. Google SIDS and New Zealand and Dr. Sprott. You'll find a lot of info and studies done in New Sealand about SIDS. This is the reason we have wrapped our crib mattress.
ok, SIL sent these links... what do you think?

Ok- I am thinking that because the product I'm talking about is not actually animal SKIN that it would be ok. It is a sliver knit wool on to poly backing, which makes it a wool pile....
If anyone knows if I'm thinking right or not I'd really appreciate it!!!
