Hi ladies. I am normally on the 3rd trimester board, but I figure I will try here too in case there are other ladies who have had similar complications to mine and may be able to help with what I am experiencing now.
I am going to back story a bit since I think it all leads in - sorry for length in advance:
Today (well I guess yesterday now) was a busy day of L&D classes. Labor basics started at 9 AM and around 1030/11 AM I could tell I was having some BH contractions. Not too bad, just kept drinking my water. We went to lunch and I was still having some BH (not timeable and not more than 4/hr) so I again kept drinking water. Afterwards we had some time to kill so we go to BRU before our next class at 2.
I have been having some pain in my left groin for the past 1.5-2 weeks mainly when putting on my pants/shoes, but the midwife that I saw at my OB's practice said it was ligament pain. But today I was feeling it while walking, and it was much stronger and painful. I want to also attribute the constant sensation of having to pee to it and of course it made me waddle. : BHs stayed light, no more than 2hr.
By the next class I was having some back pain so I brought in one of the pillows I had in the car from Friday's relaxation and breathing and refilled my water. They seemed to slow down, but the groin pain remained when walking. BHs did return later in the evening (coupled with a headache and still the groin pain making me need to use the bathroom) maybe within the hour of getting home 430ish. I laid down, drank water, DH made dinner (which helped with headache) and just relaxed until almost 8 when I felt OK enough to go with him to SIL's to give nephew his birthday gift.
Well I continued to have the groin pain (drank water more - can you tell I caught the big point to treating pain in the Labor class lol) so we just went to bed when we got home. Well now it is 3:30 and I have been up since 2. I am having this weird pain in my left side which feels like it is slightly under my ribs coupled with nausea, but I did find that when i woke up I was on my left side which could explain that. I get so nausious when laying on my left - it occurs within like 5 seconds and feels like my stomach is all knotting and a heartburn like feeling. Not nice.
I rolled to my right and tried breathing and drinking water and that has dulled it some, but I had to get out of bed and come downstairs (so as not to wake DH) so I am able to sit up, which has seemed to subside the side pain a bit.
I have never had kidney stones prior to pregnancy, but at 17 weeks I got a 6mm one stuck in my right ureter (its still there with a stent) and just this past Tuesday they found some more in my bladder, but were unable to tell which Kidney looked to be the culprit because LO was in the way. I was just at L&D last Sunday night because LO failed to move much during the day and only got 8 kicks in 2 hrs. Thankfully everything was ok, but I told the nurse then about the laying on the left and nausea thing, but she didnt really react to it, so I assumed it was no big deal.
Ok so now that you have the daily diary (sorry again) Is this something to be concerned with? Are having these pains normal when you are reaching this far into pregnancy? I dont want to go back to L&D if I dont have to (been there like 6 times+ this pregnancy with issues) especially with our $100 a pop copay. ![]()
